Check the condition of the motor-
cycle to help make sure that you
do not have mechanical problems
or get stranded somewhere when
you ride. Before riding the motor-
cycle, be sure to check the follow-
ing items. Be sure your
motorcycle is in good condition for
the personal safety of the rider,
passenger and protection of the
motorcycle.
WARNING
Checking maintenance items
when the engine is running can
be hazardous. You could be
severely injured if your hands
or clothing get caught in mov-
ing parts.
Shut the engine off when per-
forming maintenance checks,
except when checking the
engine stop switch and throt-
tle.
