SERVICING
ENGINE

Take
off
the
valve
cotters
from
the
valve
stem.
e@
Take
out
the
valve
spring
retainer,
inner
spring
and
outer
spring.
@
Pull
out
the
valve
from
the
other
side.
e
Remove
the
oil
seal
by
using
a
long-nose
pliers.
@
Take
out
the
lower
spring
seat.
NOTE:
Removal
of
the
valves
completes
ordinary
disassembling
work.
If
valve
guides
have
to
be
removed
for
replacement
after
inspecting
related
parts,
carry
out
the
steps
shown
in
valve
guide
servicing.
CYLINDER
HEAD
COVER
DISTORTION
After
removing
sealant
(SUZUKI
BOND
No.
1207B)
from
the
fitting
surface
of
the
cylinder
head
cover,
place
the
cylinder
head
cover
on
a
surface
plate
and
check
for
distortion
with
a
thickness
gauge.
Check
points
are
shown
in
illust-
ration.

Service
Limit

(0.002
in)
If
the
distortion
exceeds
the
limit,
replace
the
cy-
linder
head
cover.
