Calibration
SILICON RECTIFIER
The silicon rectifier converts AC to DC by allow-
ing current to pass іп one direction only
Check the silicon rectifier for continuity.
Set the pocket tester to the “N x 1" scale
Contact the pocket tester plus terminal (+) to
the rectifier AC terminal (~) and minus
terminal (—) to plus terminal (+).
Reverse the test connections.
If first step shows any continuity and 2nd
step shows no continuity, the rectifier is
sound condition.

Be sure to use a 6V 4A-h (14.4 KC) battery
which is completely charged. When con
necting the pocket tester terminals, be sure
to differentiate the two terminals, plus (+)
and minus (-)

Charging performance check
* Set the pocket tester knob to DC Ampere
range 20A.
* Start the engine.
* Check that the proper charging occurs at the
various engine speeds shown in the following
chart. (Values in the list below indicate mini
mum limit. Therefore, they should be more
than indicated under normal condition.)
CDI type (NIPPON DENSO)
Above 0.5A at 4 000 r/min.
Day | Below 4.0A at 8 000 r/min
Above ОЛА at 4 000 r/min.
Nighi
9 | Below 0.8A at 8 000 r/min.
