* Using a dial gauge, check the axle shaft for
deflection and replace it if the deflection
exceeds the limit.

RIM
Make sure that the rim runout checked as
shown, does not exceed the service limit. Adjust
the tension of the spokes and, if this proves to
be of no effect, replace the rim.

SPOKE NIPPLE
Check to be sure that all nipples are tight, and
retighten them as necessary using special tool.
Loose spoke nipples are likely to result in spoke
damage or in rim distortion.
