RECOIL STARTER
The recoil starter is used to start the
engine if the battery is weak. To oper-
ate the recoil starter:
1. Shift the shift lever to “N” position.
2. Grip the starter rope handle
located on the engine magneto
cover.
3. Pull the rope gently until you feel
the starter engage.
4. Pull the rope forcefully to start the
engine.
5. Immediately after the engine
starts, be sure to return the starter
rope handle gently.
NOTE:
• The engine can be started in any
gear if you squeeze the rear brake
lever until the interlock switch
clicks.
• Switch off the headlight when
starting the engine with the recoil
starter.
