Overview

This document describes the TDRFORCE Bottled Water Dispenser Pump, available in models BW1000A, BW1020A, BW2000A, BW4003A, BW4020A, and BW6000A. This system is designed to provide a convenient and efficient way to dispense water from 5-gallon bottles to various appliances and faucets.

Function Description

The TDRFORCE Bottled Water Dispenser Pump is a versatile system engineered to deliver pressurized water from commercially available 5-gallon water bottles. Its primary function is to supply water to a range of applications, including individual drinking water faucets, ice makers, chilled drinking water taps, and certain commercial coffee and tea brewers.

The core of the system is the pump module, which automatically adjusts water flow and pressure to efficiently fill the connected appliance or faucet. The operation is initiated by a float switch located on the end of the suction wand. When the suction wand is inserted into a 5-gallon bottle, the float switch activates, turning on the pump. Conversely, when the bottle is empty, the same float switch shuts off the system, preventing the pump from running dry. A built-in back-flow prevention valve within the suction wand is a crucial feature, designed to prevent water from flowing back into the bottle or spilling during bottle changes, ensuring hygiene and minimizing mess.

The system is designed for ease of installation and use. It can be placed in a cabinet, pantry, closet, cellar, or any location with a grounded electrical outlet. The pump module should be positioned on the floor of the cabinet with the on/off switch and suction tube facing out towards the cabinet doors, ideally as close as possible to a grounded electrical outlet. The 5-gallon bottle should be placed close to the pump module to avoid kinking the suction hose.

For commercial coffee and tea brewing equipment, the system can be connected to a 1/4" I.D. connection fitting at the water inlet. It is important to note that if the brewing machine has a factory-installed inlet restrictor or flow restrictor (typically limiting pressure to 90-100 psi), this device must be removed. Failure to do so can cause the pump to over-cycle repeatedly, leading to premature motor failure, which is not covered under warranty. The use of filter devices with commercial brewers is generally unnecessary.

When used with refrigerators that have ice-making and/or water dispensing functions, external filtration devices should not be used, as they can cause the pump to over-cycle and lead to premature failure. If the refrigerator has a factory-installed internal filtration system that must remain, it may also cause over-cycling. In such cases, it is recommended to contact the refrigerator manufacturer to inquire about obtaining an empty or dummy filter housing. If no such housing is available, a small accumulator tank may be necessary.

Usage Features

The TDRFORCE pump offers several features that enhance its usability and convenience:

  • Automatic Operation: The float switch in the suction wand automatically turns the pump on when water is detected and off when the bottle is empty, providing hands-free operation.
  • Back-Flow Prevention: The integrated back-flow preventor valve in the suction wand ensures that water does not flow back into the bottle or spill during bottle changes, maintaining cleanliness and preventing contamination.
  • Flexible Installation: The system comes with 20 feet of 1/4" O.D. polyethylene tubing, allowing for flexible placement of the pump module and connection to various appliances. The tubing can be cut to the desired length, ensuring a clean and square cut for proper fitting.
  • Easy Bottle Changes: The suction wand is designed for straightforward removal and reinstallation when changing bottles. Users are advised to move the bottle to an open area, clean the neck and cap area, and then remove the wand by lifting the wand cap with a rocking motion. The wand should then be placed directly into the new bottle. It is crucial not to pull on the soft plastic tube to avoid damage.
  • System Start-Up Procedure: Before initial use, the system must be sanitized. After installation, the system is turned on, and the appliance dispensing valve or drinking water faucet is operated to vent all air from the system. Once air is evacuated, closing the valve will cause the pump to shut off automatically. This venting procedure is generally only required once, even after bottle changes.
  • Compatibility: The pump is compatible with standard 5-gallon water bottles and can supply water to ice makers, refrigerators, and coffee machines.

Maintenance Features

Proper maintenance is essential to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of the TDRFORCE Bottled Water Dispenser Pump. The manual outlines a "Clean In-Place Procedure" that should be performed at least four times per year.

  • Sanitization Procedure:
    1. Turn off the dispensing system.
    2. Prepare a cleaning solution: Fill a clean pail (A) with two gallons of hot tap water (135°F/57.2°C) and add one ounce of household bleach.
    3. Submerge the bottle cap end of the suction wand into pail (A) for ten minutes, ensuring the metal hose clamp is fully immersed. Wash the underside of the cap and the exterior of the suction tube with a clean paper towel.
    4. If an optional faucet is used, disconnect it and immerse it in the water/bleach solution for ten minutes. Wash the faucet exterior with a clean paper towel, then reinstall and reconnect the tubing.
    5. Place the suction wand into a clean empty pail (B) and dispose of the solution from pail (A).
    6. Refill pail (A) with two gallons of hot tap water (135°F/57.2°C) and one ounce of household bleach. Place the suction wand into pail (A) with the bottle cap up.
    7. Disconnect the discharge tube from the faucet or refrigerator and place it into the empty second pail (B).
    8. Turn on the dispensing system and dispense all the chlorine solution into pail (B).
    9. Place the discharge tube into pail (A) and dispose of the bleach, then rinse pail (B). Replace the tube into pail (B).
    10. Refill pail (A) with two gallons of hot tap water (135°F/57.2°C) and one ounce of household bleach. Dispense this bleach as in step #6.
    11. Reinstall the suction wand into a new bottle of pure water and reconnect the discharge tube to the refrigerator or faucet. Dispense 12 to 18 ounces of water, or until the bleach taste is removed.
  • General Cautions:
    • Always check for damage upon unpacking and contact customer service if any is found.
    • Ensure the main voltage matches the specified voltage for the pump.
    • The motor must be properly grounded before operation.
    • Avoid subjecting the pump body to mechanical stress.
    • The pump must be sheltered from weather elements (sun, rain, wind, snow, chill).
    • Position the pump as close as possible to the water bottle and appliance.
    • The pump is designed for fresh water circulation only.
    • Do not use external filtration devices, as they can cause over-cycling.
    • The system is not dishwasher safe; placing it in a dishwasher will cause electrical failure.
    • Maintenance and sanitation should always be performed according to the instructions.

The manual also provides a troubleshooting guide to address common issues such as the dispenser not pumping water, outlet leaks, pump shut-off, and continuous on/off cycling. This guide helps users diagnose and resolve problems efficiently, ensuring continuous operation of the water dispenser.
