Function of the Operating Controls
Index counter
This is for indexing the program material position on
the tape. It can be reset to zero by pressing the zero
reset button on its right.
Reel turntable
7” reel is the maximum that can be used.
Quik-Lok reel holder
Reel height adjustment
Set this screwdriver adjustment for optimum reel posi-
tion, depending upon reel thickness.
Tension arm-reverse sensing post
Provides proper tape tension during starts and stops, and
compensates for the changing tape winding diameter.
Also contains the sensing post for the automatic reverse
function. Manually rotate the reels clockwise to clear the
sensing foil from this post before starting the reverse
Operation manually with the REV (#8 ) button.

Guide post-repeat sensing post
This hard stainless steel guide post, working in cornbina-
tion with the tension arm, acts as a mechanical filter to
absorb vibrations due to irregular unwinding of tape
caused by sticking to the supply reel, or unstable travel
of tape by uneven windings on the reel.
The guide post also contains the sensing contacts to
provide the automatic repeat function.
Tape speed knob
Selects tape speed at recording or playback .
