When
playing
larger
than
normal
diameter

records
or
smaller
than
normal
33-1/3
records,
open
the
cabinet
and
turn
the
speed
select
knob
to
the
appropriate
speed
setting.
Record
size
will
still
be
detected
automatically.
For
playing
transparent
records
(which
may
be
coloured
red,
green,
yellow,
blue,
etc.)
you
must
place
the
accessory
optical
sensor
light-block
sheet
on
the
turntable
mat
under
the
record
(otherwise
the
optoelectronics
will
operate
as
if
there
were
no
record
on
the
turntable
mat).
Operation
is
the
same
as
for
auto-play.
(Never
use
the
light-block
sheet
with
ordinary
non-transparent.
records.)
Using
the
optical
sensor
light-block
sheets
Use
these
sheets
to
cover
up
the
light-guide
slits
on
the
platter
when
playing
transparent
records
(which
may
be
coloured
red,
green,
yellow,
blue
etc.)
First
put
the
light-block
sheet
on
the
turntable
mat,
then
put
the
record
on
top
e
For
45
rpm
singles,
use
the
smaller
(17
cm
or
7")
sheet.
For
other
transparent
records
(17
cm,
25cm,
30cm
or
7",
10",
12”),
use
the
larger
sheet
and
shift
it
around
on
the
platter
so
that
it
covers
up
the
correct
light-guide
slits
appropriate
to
the
record
diameter,
as
shown
in
the
diagrams.

Note:
Remove
the
light-black
sheet
when
playing
non-trans-
parent
records.
Placement
Place
the
unit
in
a
stable
position
where
there
is
little
or
no
vibration.
Locate
the
unit
as
far
away
from
the
speakers
as
possible
and
isolate
the
unit
from
sound
radiation
from
them.
Do
not
use
or
store
this
unit
where
it
will
be
exposed
to
dust,
dirt,
high
humidity
or
high
temperature.
Do
not
place
it
near
heaters.
Do
not
place
it
near
or
on
top
of
a
power
amplifier,
since
power
amps
radiate
much
heat.
Do
not
use
under
direct
sunlight,
spotlights,
or
other
extremely
bright
light
sources.
Bright
lights
may
cause
misoperation
of
the
optical
sensor
system
and
therefore
interference
with
automatic
operation.
This
also
applies
to
flashlights
or
infrared
remote
control
units
brought
very
close
to
the
turntable.
Place
the
turntable
away
from
the
power
amp
to
prevent
hum.
Hum
may
be
caused
by
leakage
flux
from
the
transformer
in
the
power
amplifier
(or
integrated
amp).
Therefore.
if
you
notice
hum,
try
moving
the
turntable
to
a
slightly
different
location,
further
away
from
the
amp
Keep
it
in
a
well
ventilated
place.

When
a
radio
is
placed
too
close
to
the
turntable
and
is
played
while
the
turntable
is
in
operation,
interference
to
AM/FM
reception
may
result.
We
do
not
recommend
operating
this
unit
while
driving
an
automobile.
