MIDI
MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) is the international standard for digital communication of electronic musical
instrument data. This means that any equipment which has a MIDI terminal—such as electronic musical instruments
and personal computers—can easily exchange digital data with other MIDI equipment without resorting to complicated
conversions or connections.
About the ШИ terminals
IN: The terminal by which this instrument receives
data from other equipment.
OUT: The terminal that transmits data from this in-
strument to other equipment.
е For these connections, use a commercially available
MIDI cable. Contact your Technics dealer for more
information.
The following Kinds of data can be transmitted/received.
па Key note on/off data (keyboard performance data)
Pedal on/off data
DIGITAL EFFECT on/off data
PROGRAM CHANGE (sound selection change) data",
etc.
* Refer to page 21 regarding data transmission.
о SEQUENCER and DEMO performance data cannot be transmitted.
Assigning the MIDI CHANNEL (MIDI GH)
You can assign a MIDI CHANNEL number (1—16) to this
instrument.
* Data can be exchanged only when the channel on the
transmitting side matches the channel on the receiving
side.
« The default channel setting is 1.
While pressing the MODE SET button, use the 16 lower-
most keys (see illustration) to assign the desired MIDI
CHANNEL number.
• The selected MIDI CHANNEL number is shown on the
display.
