When using for the
first time
■ Fill the pan 2/3 full with water.
■ Close the X'press Cooker.
■ Set the pressure selector to 2.
■ Place the X'press Cooker on a source of heat at a high setting.
■ When steam begins to escape through the steam outlet, and the
pressure indicator rises, showing that the pressure has risen, reduce
the heat and wait 15 minutes.
■ When the 15 minutes are up, turn off the heat.
■ Either turn the pressure selector gradually to ,or leave the
pressure selector on 2 and reduce pressure by putting your X'press
Cooker under the cold tap.
■ When there is no longer any steam coming from the outlet, and the
pressure indicator shows that the pressure has dropped, set the
selector to and open the X'press Cooker.
■ Rinse the X'press Cooker with water and dry it.
■■ For models with a non-stick coating, wipe the interior with a cloth
and a little oil.
■ Note: stains which may appear on the base inside the pan do not
alter the quality of the metal in any way. These are marks left by hard
water. To remove them, use a scouring pad with a little diluted
vinegar.
