Cooking with your Emeril by T-fal appliance
• Prepare your recipe and place the food in-
side the pan (8). You do not need to pre-
heat.
• To avoid spills do not fill the pan more than
two-thirds full.
• Place the lid (4) on the pan with the long lid
handle (5) positioned at the front.
• Plug the Emeril by T-fal appliance into the
wall outlet ensuring the cable is fully un-
wound - Fig 5. Press the On/Off switch (6),
the light comes on and the appliance heats
up - Fig 6. The light stays on constantly dur-
ing cooking.
• If the lid is fitted incorrectly, the safety sys-
tem does not allow cooking to start and the
light will not come on. Refit the lid.
• To avoid your appliance from overheating,
do not use aluminium foil to cook, cover or
wrap food.
• To avoid damaging your appliance, do not
cook flambé dishes in it.
• Always use plastic or wooden utensils to pre-
serve the pans non-stick coating. Avoid using
sharp edged utensils.
Never use the appliance when it is empty.
On first use, there may be a slight odor
and a little smoke during the first few min-
utes.
Do not use the pan in a conventional oven.
Do not:
- use aluminium foil between the pan and
the lid,
- use aluminium foil to protect food from
over browning,
- cook food wrapped in aluminium foil, for
example when roasting.
All these actions can result in the lid over-
heating causing the plastic parts on the lid
to become too hot and possibly melt.
Do not slice or cut food directly in the pan
- Fig 9.
Do not move the appliance when in use.
To prevent damage to the pan only use it
with the lid (4) and support stand (9) for
which it was designed to operate with.
The lid and pan get very hot during and
after cooking, never touch the lid or pan -
Fig 10. Always use the handles and oven
gloves.
