7.1 PROCEDURE FOR LUGGAGE COMPARTMENTS
7. PROCEDURE FOR SIDE PANELS & REST OF VEHICLE (ZONE C)
If any corrosion is observed on the side
panels;
1. Mask the areas that you want to protect
by using reverse masking methos.
2. Brush the corroded zone with wire
brush.
3. Use pressurized air to clean the surface.
4. Clean the brushed area with a solvent
or thinner and dry it with a dry cloth.
5. Apply wash primer to the cleaned
and dried zones and wait at least 15
minutes.
6. Apply Dupont 55-30 primer to prepared
zones.
7. Wait at least 45 minutes to ensure
surfaces are dried well. Also for drying
procedure infrared heaters can be used.
