Engine - Engine and Mounting
1. Loosen alternator (1) and adjusting link (3)
capscrews (4, 5 & 6) and jam nuts (7) on adjusting
screw (8).
2. Turn adjusting screw (8) clockwise to tighten drive
belt (2) tension. Belt tension should be within values
previously stated under 'Belt Tension Check'.
3. Tighten jam nuts (7) on adjusting screw (8) to a
torque of 55 Nm (40 lbf ft).
4. Tighten adjusting link (3) and alternator (1)
capscrews (4, 5 & 6) to a torque of 55 Nm (40 lbf ft).
5. Check drive belt (2) tension again to make sure
tension is correct.

Refer to Section 300-0070, SERVICE TOOLS, for
part numbers of tools referenced in this section,
general service tools required, and service tools
which should be used in conjunction with procedures
outlined in the engine manufacturers service manual.
These tools are available from your dealer.
