The instrument is switched off.

Fold out the suspension hook,
release the clip and remove the
battery compartment lid.

Remove the spent (rechargeable) batteries and insert new ones (4 x
AA / Mignon / LR6) into the battery compartment. Observe the
polarity!

Attach and close the battery compartment lid (the clip must click into
place).

Switch the instrument on.
