What to do if my Texas Lawn Mower won't start?
    • V
      Valerie TorresAug 1, 2025
If your Texas Lawn Mower won't start when you pull the start cord or push the electric start button, make sure the safety switches under the seat and collector bag are activated (only Rider 6100E). Check that the wires connect the battery to the motor and start button. Move the mower away from high grass and set the height adjustment high so the blade moves freely. Adjust the choke lever, check and fill the fuel tank, and empty old gasoline from the tank and carburetor, replacing it with new gasoline. Also, remove any grass from around the connection plug.

If your Texas Lawn Mower engine runs irregularly or its performance becomes poor, check that the spark plug cap is firmly attached. Ensure the spark plug is clean and undamaged. Check and adjust the spark plug gap. Inspect the air filter for dirt and clean it. If fuel evaporation in the carburetor is suspected, wait a few minutes before trying again. Also, tighten the throttle cable and clean the carburetor.
