WHAT’S HAPPENING
You built a model that resembles the Gateway Arch in
St. Louis, Missouri. Like your model, the real Gateway
Arch has a triangular cross section. Without the
triangular cross pieces aaching the three lengths of
flexible rods, your model would not stand up.

arcs of the arch follow a smooth
curve, removing spots where they
are twisted, buckled, or crooked.
