CONNECTION OF THE PNEUMATIC FOOTPFDAl (Pin
The pneumatic connection of the foot-pedal (a rubber tube) has to be inserted in the dedicated
plug on the back panel, (identified by a normalised icon). It is advisable to cover the foot pedal
(for instance with a non-sterile glove) to keep it clean during the procedure.
7. OPERATING MODALITY
WARNING: before the use of the THD EVOLUTION it is necessary to have followed carefully
the instructions contained in Chapter 6 "Installation".
Make sure that both the fibre-optic cable and the Doppler Probe have been cleaned and
sterilised before connecting them. The connection has to be done safeguarding the
sterility._________________________________________________________________

The cylindrical fibre-optic connector (Pic.3-A) has to be inserted in the appropriate lodging
(identified by a normalised icon) placed on the front panel of the unit until it locks in. The metal
tip on the other end of the fibre-optic cable has to be firmly inserted in the handle of the Dearterializer THD.
DOPPLER PROBE CONNECTION (Pic.9^10)
1. Switch on the unit by putting the main switch in "1" position (Pic.11).
2. Verify the illumination of the backlight display (Pic.6-L).
3. Verify that the cooling fans, inside the unit, are working normally.
4. After a few seconds, the display will show the following message:

5. The Doppler probe has to be inserted in the appropriate rectangular slot on the side of the
dearterializer THD (Pic,10).
6. The Doppler Probe cable connector has to be inserted in the appropriate socket (identified
by a normalised icon) placed on the front panel of the unit (Pic.9),
7. The display will show the following message(*);

When ready to start the procedure, press START () (Pic.6-F).
8. Pressing START the message:
T I M E : 9 0 : 0 0
appears on the display; the light source
comes on and the Doppler is active, the typical Doppler ground noise is heard. Check that
the inside of the Dearterializer THD is illuminated.
9. Adjust the Doppler volume knob to the desired value (Pic.6-A).
10.One minute before the expiration of the procedural time, an acoustical alarm will come off.
11. At the end of the procedural time, both the Doppler and the light source are turned off and
the display will show the following message:

12. Wait at least 5 minutes before turning off the equipment and/or disconnect it from the
mains. To allow for a proper cooling of the lamp assembly.
13. It is advised to switch off the unit at the end of each procedure, by placing the switch but
ton, placed on the rear panel, on the 0" position (Pic.11). Wait at least 30 sec. before

and/o
D U M M Y P R O B E : O K ! .
the Doppler probe has has terminated its life. Replace the
probe with a new one.
