material (medical grade ABS.) and guarantees an excellent electrical isolation Further to this
protection, the electrical connectors of the crystals to the cable, are wrapped in a epoxy resin
I nsu i3 tor.
Cable (Bl
The cable consists of two coaxial wires withinan external isolation girdle
Connector (C)
The connector has a metallic shroud enclosing the signal pins and 1 earth pin.
OPTIC FIBRE
The fibre optic cable consists of:
• a stainless steel cylindrical connector (A) to the THD EVOLUTION,on whose surface the fi
bre's serial number is engraved
• the fibre optic bit itself(B). 200 cm long, within a silicone girdle;
• a cylindrically shaped metallic connector (C) in stainless steel which fits into the handle of the
Dearterializer THD.

6. INSTALLATION
The preparation for use of the THD EVOLUTION is simple. Follow all of the safety precautions
listed in chapter 4.
The unit has to be placed on a flat and stable surface, away from heat sources (like monitors,
light sources, etc.). otherwise it could overheat.
Make sure that the power supply is compatible with the electrical specifications of the
unit., proceed as follows:
1. Check the factory setting of the power supply (see Pic.5-1)
2. If it corresponds to your country's power voltage, you can proceed with the installa
tion, if it does not correspond (e.g. power setting 230 V, country's power voltage
115V), it is necessary to proceed as follows:
3. Open the lid by pressing with a screwdriver (a) (Pic.5-1)
4. Puli out the fuse box (Pic.5-11)
5. Pull out the power switch (Pic.5-111)
6. Rotate 90°counter-clockwise the lever until the correct value (230 о 115) is shown
(Pic.5-IV)
7. Reinsert the power switch
8. Reinsert the fuse box
9. Check that the value visible from the outside corresponds to the selected one (230V
о 115V)
10. You can now proceed with the installation.
l \ Power, Doppler Probe and optic fibre cables have to be intact. A damaged cable could
^ be hazardous or cause a malfunctioning, in this case do not use THD EVOLUTION.
EQUIPOTENTIAL CONNECTOR fPic.7-J)
When available, connect the THD EVOLUTION to the equipotential net of the operating theatre
(which compliance to safety regulations is the end-user's sole responsibility) via the connector
on the back panel of the THD EVOLUTION.
CONNECTION TO /1 POWER SOURCE: (Pic.8)
Before plugging the power cable, verify that the main switch, placed on the back panel, be in
the "0" (off) position. The power cabled must be firmly inserted both in the wall socket and in
the power socket, on the back of the unit.
