The Thomson Streaming Box 240G transforms your TV into a Smart TV by integrating Android features, allowing you to download apps such as streaming services, games, and TV media centers from Google Play. It supports Google Assistant for voice commands, enabling quick searches for YouTube videos, blockbusters, weather, and other content. The device also features Chromecast built-in, allowing you to cast photos, videos, and music from mobile devices (phones, tablets, or computers) to your TV.

Usage Features:
- Remote Control: The included voice remote control features numeric buttons, subtitles control, info display, colored buttons for app functions, profile switch, microphone for Google Assistant, settings menu access, directional pad for navigation, back/return, home screen access, common application buttons, volume control, program +/- for channel zapping, mute, and dedicated buttons for YouTube, Prime Video, Netflix, and Disney+. The remote control can also be paired to control power on/off, volume, or input selection of connected devices like TVs, AV receivers, or soundbars.
- First Installation: Requires pairing the remote control, selecting language and region, and following on-screen instructions. Setup can be done via the Google Home application on a mobile device or manually on the TV. A Google account is necessary to access Google Play Store, Hey Google, and streaming applications.
- App Installation: Access thousands of applications from the Google Play store. Navigate to "Menu Apps" on the Home Screen, then "Search for apps and games" to find and install desired applications. Submenus like "Your apps," "App categories," and "Featured Apps" facilitate selection.
- Bluetooth Device Connection: Connect audio devices (headphones, speakers) and input devices (gamepads, mouse, keyboard) via Bluetooth. To pair, activate Bluetooth pairing mode on the device, select "Pair accessory" in the menu, and confirm.
- Cast Content (Chromecast): Utilize the built-in Chromecast to stream videos, music, and other content from smartphones, tablets, or computers to the TV. Ensure both devices are on the same network, open a casting-supported app (e.g., YouTube), select the video, click the cast icon, and choose the Thomson 240G.
- Hey Google Functionality: Use voice commands to adjust volume, mute/unmute, open applications, and search for information (e.g., weather, movies, series) across streaming services like Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, or YouTube.
- Display Format Settings:
- Automatic: Allows installed applications to automatically adjust the HDR format to the display device, optimizing video content but not necessarily at the highest quality.
- Manual: Enables manual deactivation of HDR formats that may cause playback problems or are unsupported by the display device.
- Sound Format Settings:
- Automatic: Detects the best sound format supported by the connected device (via HDMI or Digital Audio Optical Toslink) and adjusts playback characteristics accordingly. Recommended setting.
- None: Disables surround sound playback, recommended for converting digital audio to analogue audio using a DAC or if the connected device does not support digital sound playback.
- Manual: Allows selective enabling or disabling of each supported format, independent of the audio output device.
- USB Playback: Connect external USB drives (flash drives or hard drives) to the USB-A ports. Press the HOME button to access options for playing multimedia content or expanding internal storage capacity.
- IPTV Functionality: The Streaming Box can be used as an IPTV box by downloading a preferred IPTV application.
Maintenance Features:
- Software Updates: The Thomson Streaming Box 240G receives automatic software updates. Notifications for available updates for installed apps or the operating system will appear on the Home Screen.
- Battery Replacement: The remote control uses 2 x AAA batteries. Replace them safely and dispose of used batteries in appropriate rubbish bins.
