PROBLEM
CAUSE
REMEDY
5. Engine will not come up to rated
speed when an output is selected
using the RED, YELLOW, or
GREEN buttons. Or, engine does
not stay at rated speed once an
output is selected.
F. The screen displays
“Low Load Rampdown in 10
Seconds”
F. There is not enough load on the
generator. Increase the load on
the generator or turn off this
feature (not recommended).
G. The screen displays
“Low Fuel Ramp Down in 10
Seconds”
G. The fuel level is too low, add
fuel to the GPU.
H. The GCM display is reporting
diagnostic fault codes.
H. The engine may require
maintenance or repair. Refer to
chapter 5 to troubleshoot engine
performance problems. Contact
the engine manufacturer or TLD if
necessary.
I. Defective Fuel Pump
I. Replace the pump. Contact the
engine manufacturer.
6. Engine is unsteady.
A. Insufficient fuel
A. Check the fuel supply and
return lines for kinks and leaks.
B. Fuel pump is defective
B. Replace the fuel pump. Contact
the engine manufacturer.
C. The GCM display is reporting
diagnostic fault codes.
C. The engine may require
maintenance or repair. Refer to
chapter 5 to troubleshoot engine
performance problems. Contact
the engine manufacturer or TLD if
necessary.
7. Engine lacks power
A. Insufficient fuel
A. Check the fuel supply and
return lines for kinks and leaks.
B. Insufficient inlet air
B. Check the air cleaner restriction
indicator. Replace the engine air
filter if necessary.
C. Restricted exhaust system
C. Check the exhaust pipe for
restrictions. Check the muffler for
a clog. Replace as required.
