What to do if my TLV COSR-3 Control Unit is hunting or chattering?
    • J
      Jose MossAug 19, 2025
If your TLV Control Unit is hunting or chattering, consider these potential causes and solutions: * The unit might be operating below the lower flow rate limit. Check the volume of steam supply and replace with a smaller diameter valve. * There might be too high a reduction ratio (operated at below 10% of the primary pressure). Use a two-stage reduction arrangement. * The selected model may be inappropriate for the service conditions. Check the model selection and replace the COSR if necessary. * Condensate is contained, or the trap is blocked. Check the trap and the piping.

How to fix abnormal noises in my TLV COSR-3?
    • R
      Rachael CampbellAug 26, 2025
Abnormal noises in your TLV Control Unit can be caused by several factors: * Too high a reduction ratio. Use a two-stage reduction. * The flow is too great. Check the flow rate and use a larger size valve. * A high-speed open/close valve is nearby. Install the valve as far away as possible.

Why is my TLV COSR-3 Control Unit secondary pressure not adjustable or increasing abnormally?
    • S
      Sherry OliverNov 10, 2025
There are several reasons why the secondary pressure of your TLV Control Unit might not be adjustable or is increasing abnormally: * The pilot screen, piston, or sliding surfaces of the piston, pilot, or main valve could be clogged with dirt. Clean these components. * There may be insufficient steam flow, fluctuation in steam consumption, or the selected model may be inappropriate. Check the flow and replace the COSR if necessary, check the model selection and replace the COSR if necessary. * The piston ring is worn, the adjustment screw has seized, or the diaphragm is distorted or damaged. Replace these with new parts. * The small hole on the piston is clogged. Clean it. * The flow rate exceeds the rated flow rate. Check the flow rate and replace with a larger size. * The byp...
