Storage, Maintenance, and Recycling
Follow the instructions in this chapter to properly maintain and
recycle the FC-600.
Storing the FC‑600 for More than Two Weeks
To store the handheld for two weeks or more, complete the following
steps:
1. Charge the battery pack 30 to 50 percent.
2. Close all running programs, and power o the handheld by
holding the power button until the Power menu appears and
selecting Power O.
CAUTION: Power-o the FC-600 before removing the battery.
If you remove the battery without powering-o the handheld,
you may damage the handheld and/or lose data.
3. Remove the battery pack.
4. Place the battery pack in a dry location.
Cleaning the FC‑600
Touchscreen
1. Rinse the touchscreen in a slow stream of running water to
loosen and rinse o any mud, grit, or other abrasive.
2. Apply warm water or a mild cleaning solution to a microfiber
cloth and gently wipe o the touchscreen.
3. Rinse with water and dry with a microfiber cloth.
CAUTION: Do not use abrasive pads, soft bristle brushes, or
harsh cleaning solutions on the touchscreen.
Case, Bumpers, and Connector Module
Make sure the battery door is securely installed. Use warm water, a
mild soap, and a soft bristle brush to clean the case, bumpers, and
connector module.
CAUTION: Do not direct a high-pressure stream of water at the
device to clean it. This action could break the seal, causing water to
get inside the device and voiding the warranty.
CAUTION: Exposure to some cleaning solutions may damage
your device, including automotive brake cleaner, isopropyl alcohol,
carburetor cleaner, and similar solutions. If you are uncertain about
