The W-600 is a garage door operator designed for opening and closing spring or weight-balanced garage doors. It is not suitable for doors without such balancing mechanisms.
Function Description
The W-600 features an integrated safety unit. If the closing garage door encounters an obstruction, the closing motion stops, and the door reopens a few centimetres or completely, depending on its position. If the opening garage door encounters an obstruction, the door stops and moves back for approximately 1 second.
The drive head includes an LED module for display and programming. The operator can be controlled via various devices, including a hand transmitter, key switch, or other control units.

Usage Features
The W-600 offers several operating modes, which can be configured through special settings:
- Normal Operation: The door opens and closes completely with a single impulse from a hand transmitter or other control device.
- Normal Operation with Ventilation Setting: The garage door opens approximately 10 cm for ventilation. It can be closed at any time via the hand transmitter and closes automatically after 60 minutes. This mode requires programming a second button on the hand transmitter or a DuoControl/Signal 111 accessory.
- Partial Opening for Side Sectional Door: The garage door opens approximately 1 m. Similar to the ventilation setting, this requires programming a second button on the hand transmitter or a DuoControl/Signal 111 accessory.
- OPEN-CLOSE Operation: An impulse in the CLOSE position starts the drive, opening the door completely. An impulse in the OPEN position closes the door. During closing, an impulse stops the door and reverses its direction.
- Automatic Closing ("AR"): An impulse always opens the door. After a set hold-open time and warning time (configurable in Menu A), the door closes automatically. An interruption of a photoelectric sensor during closing stops the door and reverses direction. During opening, a photoelectric sensor interruption has no effect. Variations of this mode (AR** modes) allow for early termination of the hold-open time and warning time initiation upon photoelectric sensor interruption or an impulse during the hold-open time. These modes require a photoelectric sensor.
The device features a numerical display (A1 digital point) and control buttons: OPEN/Start (B), CLOSE (C), and Program (PROG) (D). These are used for programming end positions, force limits, light times, and operating modes.
Up to 30 radio codes for hand transmitters can be learned for both start signals and light control. All radio codes can be deleted by a specific procedure involving the main plug and the PROG button.
Maintenance Features
- Force Learning Cycle: During installation, the operator automatically learns the normal mechanical force required to open and close the garage door. Force limits are deactivated during this cycle. This process must not be interrupted and must be repeated after any replacement of garage door springs.
- Force Limit Checking: The force limiting unit should be checked regularly, at least once a month, by placing an obstruction in the door's path. If the door can lift persons (e.g., openings >50 mm or treads), the force limiting unit in the opening direction must be checked; the drive must stop if an additional 20 kg load is applied.
- Diagnostic Display: The numerical display provides error codes and status indications to help diagnose issues (e.g., end position not reached, force learning cycle not completed, sensor interruptions, motor standstill).
- Factory Settings Reset: The operator can be reset to factory settings by simultaneously pressing the OPEN and CLOSE buttons for 3 seconds after connecting the power plug.
- Cycle Counter: The device stores the number of OPEN/CLOSE operations performed by the drive. This count can be read from the digital display by holding the CLOSE button for 3 seconds.
- General Maintenance: Before any work on the door or drive, the mains plug must be pulled. The drive can be wiped with a dry cloth if necessary. Regular inspections and maintenance by qualified personnel are recommended, at least once a month, to ensure safe and proper functioning.
