The mow/lift or traction switch wires could be loose. The battery might be dead, requiring a charge or replacement. A solenoid or the ignition switch could be damaged, necessitating replacement. The starter may be damaged, needing replacement or repair. The engine could be seized, requiring engine repair. The key switch, voltmeter, or solenoid wires might be loose, so connect them. Finally, ensure the operator is on the seat.

  If the cutting units lift too slowly, the rear camshaft may be misadjusted, the #1 spool travel could be restricted by the mow/lift switch, or the lift check poppet in the #1 spool section might be stuck partially closed. Adjust the camshaft, adjust the switch, or remove the lift check and repair or replace it.

  If there is no traction or it is slow in all selections and the reels are affected, the oil level in the reservoir may be low, the shift lever bracket may be loose, the rear camshaft may be misadjusted or the engine lacks power. Add oil to the proper level, adjust and tighten the shift lever, adjust the camshaft, and repair the engine as necessary.

There may be engine trouble, or the fuel tank might be empty; determine the problem and correct it. Lastly, the parking brake kill relay could be damaged, so replace the relay.
