  If you need to make regular adjustments to the steering wheel of your Toro Lawn Mower because of difficulty driving in a straight line, the leaf springs in the steering valve may be worn or broken. The gear wheel set in the steering valve could be worn, or the steering cylinder might be seized or have worn piston seals. Replace worn or broken leaf springs in the steering valve. Inspect and repair the gear wheel set and steering cylinder.

The piston pump by-pass valve might be open or defective. Also, the charge pressure could be low, or the piston (traction) pump or wheel motor(s) may be worn or damaged. You should adjust the brakes, refill the oil to the correct level in the reservoir, inspect the piston pump by-pass valve, and test the charge pressure. Finally, check the condition of the piston (traction) pump and wheel motors.

Inspect and test the solenoid valve S1R1 and replace or repair as needed. Check for electrical issues and inspect the control manifold and valves for proper operation.
