cancausethebatterygassestoexplode,resulting

Whenremovingorinstallingthebattery,donot
allowthebatteryterminalstotouchanymetal
partsofthetractor.
Donotallowmetaltoolstoshortbetweenthe
batteryterminalsandmetalpartsofthetractor.

Incorrectbatterycableroutingcoulddamagethe
tractorandcablescausingsparks.Sparkscancause
thebatterygassestoexplode,resultinginpersonal
injury.
Ifcorrosionoccursattheterminals,disconnect
thecables,negative(-)cablerst,andscrape
theclampsandterminalsseparately.Reconnect
thecables,positive(+)cablerst,andcoatthe
terminalswithpetroleumjelly.
Alwaysdisconnectthenegative(black)battery
cablebeforedisconnectingthepositive(red)
cable.
Alwaysconnectthepositive(red)batterycable
beforeconnectingthenegative(black)cable.
StoringtheBattery
Ifthemachinewillbestoredmorethan30days,removethe
batteryandchargeitfully.Eitherstoreitontheshelfonthe
machine.Leavethecablesdisconnectedifitisstoredonthe
machine.Storethebatteryinacoolatmospheretoavoid
quickdeteriorationofthechargeinthebattery.Toprevent
thebatteryfromfreezing,makesureitisfullycharged.The
specicgravityofafullychargedbatteryis1.265–1.299.

Thefusesinthemachine’selectricalsystemarelocatedunder
theseat(Figure48).
