TractionandStoppingPedal
Thetractionpedal(Figure22)hasthreefunctions:tomake
themachinemoveforward,tomoveitbackward,andtostop
themachine.Pressthetopofthepedaltomoveforward
andthebottomofthepedaltomovebackwardortoassist
instoppingwhenmovingforward.Also,allowthepedal
tomovetotheneutralpositiontostopthemachine.For
operatorcomfort,donotresttheheelofyourfootonreverse
whenoperatingforward(Figure23).

Thebrakepedal(Figure22)actuatesanautomotivedrum-type
mechanicalbrakeateachtractionwheel.
ParkingBrakeLever
Pressingthebrakepedaltoactuatethebrakeassembly,then
pressingthesmallleverindicated(
Figure22)willkeepthe
brakesactuatedforparking.Disengageitbypressingthe
brakepedal.Formthehabitoflockingtheparkingbrake
beforeyouleavethemachine.Locktheparkingbrakeany
timeyouleavethemachine.
ThrottleControl
Thethrottlecontrol(Figure24)givestheoperatortheability
tocontrolthespeedoftheengine.Movingthethrottle
controltowardtheFastpositionincreasestheengineRPM;
movingthethrottlecontroltowardSlowwilldecreasethe
engineRPM.Groundspeedsareasfollows:
2to5MPH(3.2to8km/h)forwardmowingspeed
8.8MPH(14.1km/h)maximumtransportspeed
2.5MPH(4.0km/h)reversespeed
Note:Theenginecannotbestoppedbytheuseofthe
throttlecontrol.
