Thecuttingunitlift/dropcircuitisequippedwithaow
controlvalve(Figure55).Thisvalveispresetatthefactory
butanadjustmentmayberequiredtocompensatefor
differencesinhydraulicoiltemperatures,mowingspeeds,etc.
Ifanadjustmentisrequired,proceedasfollows:
Note:Allowthehydraulicoiltoreachfulloperating
temperaturebeforeadjustingtheowcontrolvalve.
1.Raisetheseatandlocatetheowcontrolvalveforthe
centerpullframe(
Figure55)whichislocatedonthe
sideofthehydraulicmanifold.
2.Loosenthejamnutontheowcontrolvalve.
3.Rotatetheknob1/4turncounterclockwiseifthecenter
cuttingunitisdroppingtoolateor1/4turnclockwise
ifthecentercuttingunitisdroppingtooearly.
4.Afterthedesiredsettinghasbeenachieved,tightenthe
jamnut.

Keepngers,hands,andclothingawayfromthe
reelsorothermovingparts.
Neverattempttoturnthereelsbyhandorfoot
whiletheengineisrunning.
1.Positionthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthe
cuttingunits,stoptheengine,engagetheparkingbrake.
2.Unlockandraisetheseattoexposethecontrols.
3.Makeinitialreeltobedknifeadjustmentsappropriate
forbacklappingonallcuttingunitswhicharetobe
backlapped;refertotheCuttingUnitOperator’sManual.
DANGER
Changingtheenginespeedwhilebacklapping
maycausethereelstostall.
Neverchangetheenginespeedwhile
backlapping.
Onlybacklapatidleenginespeed.
4.Starttheengineandrunatlowidlespeed.
5.RotatetheBacklapLevertothe“R”position
(Figure56).

movetheRaise/LowerMowcontrolforwardtostart
thebacklappingoperationonthedesignatedreels.

9.Ifthereelsstallorbecomeerraticwhilebacklapping,
selectahigherreelspeedsettinguntilthespeed
stabilizes,thenreturnthereelspeedtosetting1orto
yourdesiredspeed.
10.Tomakeanadjustmenttothecuttingunitswhile
backlapping,turnthereelsoffbymovingthe
Raise/LowerMowcontrolrearwardandstopthe
engine.Aftercompletingadjustments,repeatsteps4
through8.
11.Repeattheprocedureforallcuttingunitsyouwantto
backlap.
12.Whennished,returnthebacklapleverstothe
“F”position,lowertheseat,andwashalllapping
