ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
Theengineisshippedwithoilinthecrankcase;
however,youmustchecktheoillevelbeforeandafter
yourststarttheengine.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,shutoffthe
engine,engagetheparkingbrake,andremove
thekey.
2.Pivottheseatforward.
3.Pulloutthedipstick(Figure24)andwipeitwith
acleanrag.

4.Insertthedipstickintothetubeandmakesure
thatitisfullyseated.Removethedipstickfrom
thetubeandchecktheoillevel.Iftheoillevelis
low,removethellercapfromthevalvecover
andaddenoughofthespeciedoiltoraisethe
leveltotheFullmarkonthedipstick.
Important:Besuretokeeptheoillevel
betweentheupperandlowermarkonthe
dipstick.Ifyouoverllorunderlltheengine
oil,youmaydamageenginewhenrunningit.
5.Installthedipstickrmlyinplace.
Important:Youmustfullyseatthedipstick
inthetubetopropersealtheengine
crankcase.Failuretosealthecrankcasemay
resultinenginedamage.
6.Pivottheseatdown.
ChangingtheEngineOil
andFilter
ServiceInterval:Every100hours(moreoftenin
extremelydirtyordustyconditions).
Crankcaseoilcapacity:approximately1.66L(1-3/4
USqt)withthelter.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,shutoffthe
engine,engagetheparkingbrake,andremove
thekey.
2.Removethedrainplug(Figure25)andlettheoil
owintoadrainpan.Whentheoilstops,install
thedrainplug.

4.Applyalightcoatofcleanoiltothenewlter
gasket.
5.Threadthelteronbyhanduntilthegasket
contactsthelteradapter;thentighten1/2to
3/4turnfurther.
