oneormoreofthefollowing:
•Sharpentheblade.
•Walkataslowerpacewhilemowing.
•Raisethecuttingheightonyourlawnmower.
•Cutthegrassmorefrequently.
•Overlapcuttingswathsinsteadofcuttingafull
swathwitheachpass.
•Setthecuttingheightonthefrontwheelsone
notchlowerthantherearwheels.Forexample,set
thefrontwheelsat2inches(51mm)andtherear
wheelsat2-1/2inches(64mm).
CuttingLeaves
•Aftercuttingthelawn,ensurethathalfofthelawn
showsthroughthecutleafcover.Youmayneedto
makemorethanonepassovertheleaves.
•Forlightleafcoverage,setallthewheelsatthesame
cuttingheightsetting.
•Iftherearemorethan5inches(12.7cm)ofleaves
onthelawn,setthefrontcuttingheight1or2
notcheshigherthantherearcuttingheight.This
makesiteasiertofeedtheleavesunderthelawn
mowerdeck.
•Slowdownyourmowingspeedifthelawnmower
doesnotcuttheleavesnelyenough.
•Ifyoumowoveroakleaves,youcanaddlimeto
thegrassinthespringtoreducetheacidityofthe
oakleaves.
