Important:Replacingthecablewithout
replacingthebeltmaycausethegapbetweenthe
blade-brake-controlleverandthecontrolbracket
tobeincorrect.Ifthegapislessthan8mm(5/16
inch),thebladebrakewillnotfunctionproperly
andthebladewillnotstopwithin3seconds.Ifthe
gapisgreaterthan8mm(5/16inch),thebeltwill
notproperlydrivetheblade.
4.Pullthecabletighttoremovetheslack(butdonot
stretchthecablespring)andtightenthecableclamp
screwtolocktheadjustmentinplace.
5.Removethespacer.
6.Ensurethatthereisslackinthecableandagap
betweentheblade-brake-controlleverandthecontrol
bracketwhentheself-propel-drivebarisnotengaged.
7.Installthe2beltcoversonthetopofthemower
housing.
Important:Afterinstallingthenewblade-brake
beltandblade-brakecable,checkthatthe
blade-brakeclutchisoperatingproperlyandthat
thebladestopswithin3seconds;refertoChecking
theBlade-BrakeClutch(page13).
