•Stayintheoperatingposition(behindthe
handle)whiletheengineisrunning.
•Donotallowbystandersinthearea.
1.Positionthemachineonaatconcreteorasphalt
surfacenearagardenhose.
2.Starttheengine.
3.Holdtherunninggardenhoseathandlelevelanddirect
thewatertoowonthegroundjustinfrontofthe
rightreartire(Figure33).

dryouttheundersideofthemachine.
ScrapingMethod
Ifwashingdoesnotremovealldebrisfromunderthe
machine,scrapeitclean.
1.Disconnectthewirefromthesparkplug.
2.Drainthegasolinefromthefueltank.
WARNING
Tippingthemachinemaycausethegasoline
toleakfromthecarburetororthefueltank.
Gasolineisextremelyammable,highly
explosive,and,undercertainconditions,can
causepersonalinjuryorpropertydamage.
Avoidfuelspillsbyrunningtheenginedryor
byremovingthegasolinewithahandpump;
neversiphon.
3.Tipthemachineontoitsrightside(aircleanerup).
4.Removethedirtandgrassclippingswithahardwood
scraper.Avoidburrsandsharpedges.
5.Returnthemachinetotheoperatingposition.
6.Connectthewiretothesparkplug.

ServiceInterval:Every50hours—Removegrassclippings
anddebrisfromunderthebeltcover.
1.Stoptheengineandwaitforallmovingpartstostop.
2.Disconnectthewirefromthesparkplug.
3.Removethebeltcover(Figure34)fromthemower
housing.
