and3(fast).Theself-propel-driveleverislocatedbelowand
behindthefueltank(Figure15).

Squeezethebarclosertothehandletoincreasetheground
speed.Whenyouholdthebartightagainstthehandle,the
machineself-propelsatthemaximumgroundspeed.Move
theself-propel-drivelevertotheNEUTRALpositionwhenyou
usethemachinefortrimming.

Checktheblade-controlbarbeforeeachusetoensurethat
theblade-brakeclutchisoperatingproperly.
CheckingwiththeGrassBag
1.Installtheemptygrassbagonthemachine.
2.Starttheengine.
3.Engagetheblade.
Note:Thebagshouldbegintoinate,indicatingthat
thebladeisengagedandrotating.
4.Releasetheblade-controlbar.
Note:Ifthebagdoesnotimmediatelydeate,the
bladeisstillrotating.Theblade-brakeclutchmaybe
deterioratingand,ifignored,couldresultinanunsafe
operatingcondition.Havethemachineinspectedand
servicedbyanAuthorizedServiceDealer.
5.Shutofftheengineandwaitforallmovingpartsto
stop.

1.Movethemachineontoapavedsurfaceinanon-windy
area.
