ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily—Inspectthe
acceleratorforwearordamage.
Carefullyexaminetheacceleratorforexcessivewear(Figure
29).Becausesandandabrasivematerialcanwearawaythe
metal(especiallyintheareashownasitem2inFigure29),
checktheacceleratorbeforeusingthemachine.Ifyounotice
thatatabontheacceleratorhasbeenworndowntoasharp
edgeorthereisacrack,replacetheaccelerator;referto
RemovingtheBlade(page22).

RemovingtheBlade
1.Grasptheendofthebladeusingaragorathickly
paddedglove.
2.Removethebladenuts,theaccelerator,andtheblade
(Figure28).
SharpeningtheBlade
ServiceInterval:Every50hours—Sharpenorreplacethe
blade.Maintainitmorefrequentlyifthe
edgedullsquicklyinroughorinsandy
conditions.
Filethetopsideofthebladetomaintainitsoriginalcutting
angle(Figure30A)andinnercuttingedgeradius(Figure
30B).Thebladewillremainbalancedifyouremovethesame
amountofmaterialfrombothcuttingedges.
