SharpeningtheBlades
1.Usealetosharpenthecuttingedgeatbothendsof
theblade(Figure58).Maintaintheoriginalangle.The
bladeretainsitsbalanceifthesameamountofmaterial
isremovedfrombothcuttingedges.

2.Checkthebalanceofthebladebyputtingitonablade
balancer(Figure59).Ifthebladestaysinahorizontal
position,thebladeisbalancedandcanbeused.Ifthe
bladeisnotbalanced,lesomemetalofftheendof
thesailareaonly(Figure59).Repeatthisprocedure
untilthebladeisbalanced.

InstallingtheBlades
1.Installthecurvedwasherandthenthebladeonto
thebolt.Selectthepropernumberofspacer(s)for
theheight-of-cut,andslidetheboltintothespindle
(Figure57).
Important:Thecurvedpartoftheblademust
pointupwardtowardtheinsideofthemowerto
ensurepropercutting.
2.Installtheremainingspacer(s)andsecurethemwitha
thinwasherandanut(Fig.Figure57).
3.Torquethebladeboltto101-108N-m(75-80ft-lb).
AdjustingtheBladeBrake
1.DisengagethePTO,turntheignitionkeytooff,and
removethekey.
2.Waitforallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingpositionandthensettheparkingbrake.
3.Ifnecessary,adjustthespringmountingboltssothat
thebladebrakepadrubsagainstbothsidesofthe
pulleygroove(Figure60).
4.Adjustthenutattheendofthebladebrakeroduntil
thereis3mm-5mm(1/8-3/16inch)betweenthenut
andspacer(Figure60).
5.Engagetheblades.Ensurethebladebrakepadno
longercontactsthepulleygroove.
