Important:UsingengineoilotherthanAPICJ-4
orhigher,ACEAE6,orJASODH-2maycausethe
dieselparticulateltertoplugorcauseengine
damage.
Usethefollowingengineoilviscositygrade:
Preferredoil:SAE15W-40(above0°F)
Alternateoil:SAE10W-30or5W-30(all
temperatures)
ToroPremiumEngineOilisavailablefromyour
authorizedT orodistributorineither15W-40or10W-30
viscositygrades.
CheckingtheEngine-OilLevel
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
Theengineisshippedwithoilinthecrankcase;
however,theoillevelmustbecheckedbeforeand
aftertheengineisrststarted.
Important:Checktheengineoildaily.Ifthe
engine-oillevelisabovetheFullmarkonthe
dipstick,theengineoilmaybedilutedwithfuel;
IftheengineoillevelisabovetheFullmark,
changetheengineoil.
Thebesttimetochecktheengineoiliswhenthe
engineiscoolbeforeithasbeenstartedfortheday.
Ifithasalreadybeenrun,allowtheoiltodrainback
downtothesumpforatleast10minutesbefore
checking.IftheoillevelisatorbelowtheAddmark
onthedipstick,addoiltobringtheoilleveltotheFull
mark.Donotoverlltheenginewithoil.
Important:Keeptheengineoillevelbetweenthe
upperandlowerlimitsonthedipstick;theengine
mayfailifyourunitwithtoomuchortoolittleoil.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface.
2.Checktheengine-oillevel(Figure71).
