  The malfunction indicator light may activate for several reasons: * The engine might be too hot, in which case, shut it off and allow it to cool. * A dirty air cleaner can cause this; ensure the air cleaner and precleaner are clean, replacing them if needed. * Low battery voltage can trigger the light; ensure you're using a fully charged 12V battery. * A fuse might be blown; check and replace any blown fuses. * A faulty valve in the fuel tank or unsecured connections to the sensors electronic-control unit (ECU) and fuel injectors can also cause this; in these cases, contact an Authorized Service Dealer.

Check if the idler spring is broken or missing and replace it if needed. Lastly, the hydraulic fluid level could be low or too hot; add hydraulic fluid to the reservoirs or let it cool down.

Inspect the seat-switch indicator and replace the seat if necessary. Check the spark-plug wire connection, and adjust or replace the spark plug if it is fouled or improperly gapped. Also, check the electrical connections for good contact, cleaning the connector terminals thoroughly with electrical-contact cleaner, apply dielectric grease, and make the appropriate connections.
