Why won't my Toro Mower engine start?

If your Toro Mower engine won't start, starts hard, or fails to keep running, consider these possibilities: * The fuel tank may be empty, so fill it. * The fuel shutoff valve may be closed, so open it. * The oil level in the crankcase may be low, so add oil. * The throttle and choke may not be in the correct position, so adjust them. * The fuel filter may be dirty, so replace it. * The air cleaner may be dirty, so clean or replace it. * The seat switch may not be functioning properly, so check the seat switch indicator and replace the seat if needed. * Electrical connections may be corroded, loose, or faulty, so check and clean them. * The spark plug may be faulty, so clean, adjust, or replace it. * The spark plug wire may not be connected, so check the connection.
