7. If hydraulic fittings are to be removed from reel mo-
tor, mark fitting orientation to allow correct assembly.
Remove hydraulic fittings and O--r ings from motor. Dis-
card removed O--rings.
8. Inspect threads and sealing surfaces of fittings and
motor ports. Replace c omponents if damage is found.
Installation (Fig. 55)
1. If fittings were removed from reel motor, lubricate
and place new O--rings onto fittings. Install fittings into
reel motor openings making sure that fitting orientation
isasnotedduringremoval.Tightenfittings(seeHydrau-
lic Fitting Installation in the General Information section
of this chapter).
2. Position motor mount to reel motor flange and se-
cure with two (2) retaining rings.
3. Install reel motor to the cutting unit:
A. Coat splines of reel motor shaft with clean
grease.
B. Align reel motor shaft splines with splines in cut-
ting reel. Slide reel motor into cutting unit side plate
(Fig. 57).
C. Pullmotorclamptowardthemotoruntilclampful-
ly engages slots on both sides of the motor mount
(Fig. 58). There should be an audible click as clamp
engages mount.
4. Remove caps andplugs from disconnectedhydrau-
lic hoses and motor fittings.
5. Usinglabelsplacedduring reelmotor removal,lubri-
cate new O--rings and connect hydraulic hoses to reel
motor. Tighten hose connections (see Hydraulic Hose
andTubeInstallationin theGeneralInformationsection
of this chapter).
6. Checkoil levelinhydraulic reservoirandaddcorrect
oil if necessary.
7. Follow Hydraulic System Start--up procedures (see
Hydraulic System Start--up in this section).
