1.Parkthemachineonalevel,smoothsurfacewith

sufcientspacetoaccessbothsidesofthemowing

deck.

WARNING

Beforeworkingonthemachine,stoptheengine,

settheparkingbrake,removetheignitionkey,

anddisconnectthesparkplugwire.

CAUTION

Ifyouleavethekeyintheignitionswitch,

someonecouldaccidentlystarttheengineand

seriouslyinjureyouorotherbystanders.

Removethekeyfromtheignitionanddisconnect

thewirefromthesparkplugbeforeyoudoany

maintenance.Setthewireasidesothatitdoes

notaccidentallycontactthesparkplug.

2.Checktheloosepartsbagandverifythatitcontains

allthepartslistedinthisdocument.

3.Removethemowingdeckandslideitoutfrom

underthetractionunit;refertotheOperator’sManual

forthismodel.

Here's what you can check: * Ensure the fuel tank is full. * Make sure the choke is on. * Inspect the air cleaner; if it's dirty, clean or replace it. * Check the spark-plug wire(s) to ensure they are properly connected. * Replace any pitted, fouled, or incorrectly gapped spark plug(s) with new ones. * Ensure that the oil level in the crankcase is adequate by adding oil if needed. * Replace the fuel filter if it is dirty. * If there is incorrect fuel in the fuel tank, drain the tank and replace the fuel with the proper type.

Ensure the mower is level from side-to-side and front-to-rear. Adjust the anti-scalp wheel height if it is not set correctly. Clean the underside of the mower if it's dirty, and adjust the tire pressure if it's incorrect.
