15.Installthereartiresandtorquelugnutsbetween90
and95ft-lb(122and129N-m).
16.Removejackstands.
BeltMaintenance
InspectingtheBelts
ServiceInterval:Every50hours
Checkthebeltsforsquealingwhenthebeltisrotating,
bladesslippingwhencuttinggrass,frayedbeltedges,
burnmarksandcracksaresignsofawornmowerbelt.
Replacethemowerbeltifanyoftheseconditionsare
evident.
ReplacingtheMowerBelt
Squealingwhenthebeltisrotating,bladesslippingwhen
cuttinggrass,frayedbeltedges,burnmarksandcracks
aresignsofawornmowerbelt.Replacethemowerbelt
ifanyoftheseconditionsareevident.
Important:Thefastenersonthecoversofthis
machinearedesignedtoremainonthecoverafter
removal.Loosenallofthefastenersoneachcovera
fewturnssothatthecoverisloosebutstillattached,
thengobackandloosenthemuntilthecover
comesfree.Thiswillpreventyoufromaccidentally
strippingtheboltsfreeoftheretainers.
1.DisengagethePTO,movethemotioncontrollevers
totheneutrallockedpositionandsettheparking
brake.
2.Stoptheengine,removethekey,andwaitforall
movingpartstostopbeforeleavingtheoperating
position.
3.Lowerthemowertothe3inch(76mm)heightofcut.
4.Removethebeltcoversandtheboltsattachedto
them(
Figure72).
