RemovingtheMowerDeck
Beforeservicingorremovingthemowerdeck,thespring
loadeddeckarmsmustbelockedout.
WARNING
Deckliftarmassemblieshavestoredenergy.
Removingthedeckwithoutreleasingthestored
energycancauseseriousinjuryordeath.
DoNotattempttodisassemblethedeckfromthe
frontframewithoutlockingoutthestoredenergy.
1.Stopengine,waitforallmovingpartstostop,and
removekey.Engageparkingbrake.
2.Removetheheightadjustmentpinandlowerthe
decktotheground.
3.Placetheheightadjustmentpininthe3inch(7.6cm)
cuttingheightlocation.Thislocksthedeckliftarms
inthelowestpositionwhenthedeckisremovedand
thestoredenergyinthedeckspringisreleased.
4.Removethebeltcovers.
5.Removetheboltsholdingtheoorpandown.
6.Liftuptheoorpanandinsertaratchetintothe
squareholeinthedeckidler(Figure95).
7.Rotatethedeckidlerclockwiseandremovethe
mowerbelt(Figure95).
