Overview

The Toshiba RT-200S is a stereo radio cassette recorder designed for portable audio playback and recording. It combines a multi-band radio tuner with a cassette deck featuring auto-reverse functionality.

Function Description:

The RT-200S serves as a versatile audio device, allowing users to:

  • Listen to Radio: Tune into various radio bands including FM, SW (Shortwave), MW (Medium Wave), and LW (Long Wave). The device features a tuning knob and a fine-tuning control for precise station selection, along with a tuning indicator and an FM stereo indicator.
  • Play Cassette Tapes: Playback standard cassette tapes with stereo sound. The auto-reverse mechanism offers continuous playback without needing to flip the tape, with options for 1-cycle or continuous playback, and manual channel change. A tape counter and reset button are included for easy navigation.
  • Record Audio: Record from the radio, built-in microphones, external microphones, or other audio equipment connected via the AUX input. The recording system uses AC bias (85 kHz) and AC erasing for quality recordings. A record key and pause key facilitate recording control.
  • Mix Audio: Mix live sounds from an external microphone with sound from a played-back tape using the MIXING MIC jack.
  • Output Audio: Connect to external speakers via the EXT SP jacks, or to headphones via the PHONES jack. It also provides LINE OUT jacks for connecting to another amplifier or tape deck for dubbing or amplification.
  • Portability: Designed for portability, it can be powered by AC mains or DC batteries (8 x SUM-1 "D" size cells).

Important Technical Specifications:
