3.17 Head Cleaning
3.17.1 Function Description
This function cleans FDD heads by executing a series of head load/seek and read operations.
A cleaning kit is required.
3.17.2 Operations
1. Select 4 from the DIAGNOSTIC MENU and press Enter to display the following
messages:
DIAGNOSTICS - FLOPPY DISK HEAD CLEANING : VX.XX
Mount cleaning disk(s) on drive(s).
Press any key when ready.
2. Remove the Diagnostics Disk from the FDD, insert the cleaning disk, and press
Enter.
3. When the cleaning start message appears, FDD head cleaning has begun.
4. The display returns to the DIAGNOSTIC MENU when the program is completed.
