Overview

The TP-Link Archer TBE550E is a BE9300 Wi-Fi 7 Bluetooth PCIe Adapter designed to provide a smooth and high-performance wireless experience for desktop computers. It leverages the full potential of the 6 GHz band, offering exceptional bandwidth and congestion-free channels. Enhanced with 4096-QAM and 320MHz, the adapter aims to deliver astonishing wireless speeds, facilitating instant multi-stream media playback.

Function Description:

The Archer TBE550E serves as a dual-purpose adapter, providing both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity to a desktop computer via a PCI Express (PCIe) slot. It enables the computer to connect to wireless networks using the latest Wi-Fi 7 standard, as well as older Wi-Fi standards, and to pair with various Bluetooth devices.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Wireless Standards: Supports 5760 Mbps on 6 GHz, 2880 Mbps on 5 GHz, and 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. It is compatible with IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be standards.
  • Antennas: Features 2× High-Performance Tri-Band Antennas, designed to optimize signal reception across all supported frequency bands.
  • Wireless Security: Supports WPA, WPA2, and WPA3, including WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK* for secure wireless connections.
  • Dimensions (without the antenna base): 3.7 x 4.8 x 0.8 inches (95.2 x 120.8 x 21.5 mm).
  • System Requirements: Requires Windows 11 (64-bit) only.
  • Operating Temperature: 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F).
  • Storage Temperature: -40°C to 70°C (-40°F to 158°F).
  • Operating Humidity: 10% to 90% non-condensing.
  • Storage Humidity: 5% to 90% non-condensing.
  • PCIe Interface: Designed for available PCIe slots (X1, X4, X8, or X16).
  • Bluetooth Version: Supports Bluetooth 5.4, though certain features may be restricted on some computing systems and platforms, requiring driver updates for compatibility.
  • Bandwidth: The 320 MHz bandwidth is exclusively available on the 6 GHz band. The availability of 320 MHz on 6 GHz and 160 MHz on 5 GHz may be subject to regional/country-specific regulatory restrictions.
  • Network Speed: Actual network speed may be limited by factors such as the product's PCI Express Interface rate, Ethernet WAN or LAN port rate, network cable quality, internet service provider factors, operating system factors, and environmental conditions.
  • WPA3: Use of WPA3 requires access points (APs) to also support the corresponding feature.

Usage Features:

  • Easy Installation: The adapter is installed into an available PCIe slot on the computer's motherboard. A provided Bluetooth USB cable connects the adapter to an F_USB connector on the motherboard to enable Bluetooth functionality.
  • Antenna System: Includes a magnetized antenna base with two high-performance tri-band antennas that connect to the adapter. The magnetized base allows for flexible placement to optimize signal reception. Users are advised to ensure a clear path between the antenna and the router for maximum performance.
