In general terms the remote control buttons have the same function
as the corresponding buttons on the DAC 8 front panel.
The infra-red sensor for the remote control system is located in the
display area of the DAC 8. There must be clear line-of-sight contact
between the F8 handset and the screen.
The following tables show the remote control buttons and their
functions when operating the machine.

Switches the DAC 8 on and off.
Buttons for source selection
Toggles between the co-ax inputs S/P-DIF 1 and S/P-DIF
2.
Toggles between the co-ax inputs S/P-DIF 3 and S/P-DIF
4.
Toggles between the optical input OPT and the co-ax
input BNC.
Toggles between the balanced AES/EBU input and the
USB input.
This button toggles between normal and inverse signal
phase.
Toggles between FIR 1 and FIR 2 oversampling.
Toggles between the two types of Bezier oversampling.
With the button, the bandwidth of the analogue
output filter can be switched between 60 kHz (normal
mode) or 120 kHz ('WIDE' mode).

In stand-alone operation:
Increases / decreases the volume
(only possible when the switch on the back of the DAC 8 is
set to ‘VRBL’, or when headphones are connected)
