Sensor Tests
Step 3
Use an ohmmeter to measure the resistance of the
liquid line sensor (Figure 13). Compare to Table 3
values. If the sensor resistance is not equal to or
close to the table values, replace the sensor.
Testing the liquid line pressure transducer
Introduction
The liquid line pressure trans-
ducer (Figure 14) senses liq-
uid line pressure. The sen-
sor is used by the charge as-
sist module to determine the
state of system charge, as
well as a high pressure moni-
tor. The transducer connects
to the outdoor unit control board on plug J9. The volt-
age at the J9 plug can be measured by placing one
meter lead on the +VP test point and the other onto
the T5 test point common on the outdoor unit control
board.
How to test
Outdoor unit board must be on for this test.
Step 1
Measure the refrigerant pressure of the liquid line (Fig-
ure 15).
Step 2
Measure the DC voltage between the +VP point and
the T5 point (Figure 16). Compare the voltage to the
values shown in Table 4. The voltage shown should be
equal to or close to these values. If the voltage mea-
sured is not equal to the values listed in the table,
replace the sensor.
