Objects thrown by the grass mower -
May cause serious injuries to people and
animals. Inspect the area where the
equipment will be used for debris and
remove all stones, pieces of wood, wires,
bones and other weird objects.
If the grass mower throws a weird object
- Follow these steps:
a) Immediately switch off the grass
mower.
b) Perform any repairs required before
turning the grass mower on and
operating it.
2 - Personal safety.
Dress properly - Do not wear loose
clothes or jewelry as they may get stuck
in the movable parts of the equipment .
Whenever cutting the grass, always wear
pants and resistant shoes.
Wear protection equipment. Always wear
goggles. Wearing protection equipment
like gloves, shoes, and ear plugs increases
your protection and reduces the risk of an
accident.
Do not operate the equipment barefoot or
with sandals.
Do not be self-confident - Keep both feet
on the ground to keep balance.
Beware of what is going on and use
common sense when operating the
equipment. Do not use it when you are
tired, distracted or under the influence of
drugs, alcohol or medicine. A slight
distraction may result in a serious injury.
Keep feet and hands away from the
cutting area.
Do not leave hands or feet near or under
moving parts. With rotary grass mowers,
always keep yourself away from discharge
opening.
Walk; do not run.
3 - Use and care
Check whether the lawn mower tension is
the same of the supply voltage.
Maintain the grass mower in good
condition, never exposing it to rain or
humidity - When you are not using the
equipment, keep it in a dry place, protected
from bad weather. Water and humidity can
damage the electric circuits of the engine.
If the power supply cord is damaged, it
shall be replaced by the manufacturer,
authorized agent or qualified technician to
prevent risks.
Before using the lawn mower, check
whether the cutting blade is fixed. Visually
inspect the blade for damage or dullness.
Replace the blade and damaged or worn out
screws to maintain balance. In case the
blade needs sharpening, sharpen both sides
to avoid unbalance.
For the safety of the operator and
of the equipment, replace worn/damaged
parts.
Use the equipment correctly - Do not use
the grass mower for any purpose other than
that specified for it.
Take care of your grass mower - Keep the
cutting blade sharp and clean to obtain
good and safe performance.
With rotary grass mowers, make sure to use
spare cutting means of the right type only.
Never put the equipment away with
gasoline in the tank. If necessary, keep the
engine running until it turns off due to
lack
of gasoline.
Note:
According to the NBR 5410, it is
compulsory to install a device to protect
against Residual Differential current (DR
device) with tripping current not greater
than 30mA in the electrical installation.
The function of the “DR” is to protect
the user against serious electrical shock
risk (consult an electrician).
