Trotec TGP 1000 E / TGP 1000 ES Garden Pump
The Trotec TGP 1000 E and TGP 1000 ES are garden pumps designed for pumping clear service water in home and garden applications. These devices are capable of drawing water from wells, rain barrels, or cisterns from a depth of up to 7 meters and pumping it to a height of up to 42 meters. The maximum water temperature for operation is 35 °C.
Function Description
The primary function of these pumps is to facilitate the transfer of clear water for various uses. They are suitable for:
- Watering gardens and vegetable beds: Providing an efficient way to irrigate plants.
- Operating lawn sprinklers: Supplying water to maintain lawns.
- Service water supply in the home and garden: Offering a versatile solution for general water transfer needs.
The pump can handle different pumping media, including well water, rainwater from rain barrels or cisterns, and water from ponds and streams (when used with an appropriate pre-filter).
For permanent installations, the device is equipped with feet that have drill holes, allowing it to be bolted to the ground for stability. Water can be easily filled into the pump via the water filler neck and drained via the water drain nozzle.
The TGP 1000 E model features a pump housing made of plastics, while the TGP 1000 ES model utilizes stainless steel for its pump housing, offering enhanced durability and corrosion resistance.

Usage Features
The Trotec garden pumps are designed with several features to ensure safe and effective operation:
- Easy Transport: The device is fitted with a transport handle (6) for convenient carrying. Users are instructed to always carry the device by this handle and never by the power cable or hose.
- Flexible Installation: The pump can be operated with either a hose line or a pipe. It comes with a 1" internal thread for connections.
- Suction and Pressure Line Connections: The device has dedicated connections for the pressure line (2) and suction line (4). Protective caps (9, 10) are provided for these connections to protect the interior from dust and dirt during storage. Thread seal tape (e.g., Teflon tape) is recommended for threaded connectors to ensure leak-proof connections.
- Water Filling: The pump must be filled with water via the water filler neck (3) before operation. The connected suction line should also be completely filled with the pumping medium to prevent dry running.
- Overheating Protection: A thermal protection circuit is integrated into the device. If the pump overheats, this circuit will activate and switch the device off, preventing damage. Users should allow the device to cool down and investigate the cause of overheating.
- On/Off Switch: The device is equipped with an on/off switch (1) with a protective cover for safe operation.
- Bleeding the Pressure Line: Before initial operation, all consumers connected to the pressure line should be opened to bleed the line, ensuring proper water flow.
- Shutdown Procedure: For shutdown, the device should be switched off, the mains plug disconnected, and residual pressure released via the lowest-level consumer. Any remaining water should be drained via the water drain nozzle (5).
- Available Accessories: Trotec offers compatible accessories such as the TDP DSP (with plug, Article number: 4.610.000.291) and TDP DS (without plug, Article number: 4.610.000.290) to enhance functionality.
Maintenance Features
Proper maintenance is crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of the TGP 1000 E / TGP 1000 ES garden pump.
- Regular Checks: Users should regularly check the device for damage, paying particular attention to the mains cable and plug. Any damage or functional restrictions require the device to be repaired by an expert using original spare parts.
- Frost Protection: In areas with a danger of frost, all water must be drained from the device via the water drain nozzle (5) to prevent damage. The device must be refilled with water before restarting.
- Cleaning: The device should be cleaned with a soft, damp, lint-free cloth. Electrical components must be protected from moisture. Aggressive cleaning agents, solvents, alcohol-based, or abrasive cleaners should not be used. The inside of the device should be rinsed with clear, lukewarm water.
- Storage: When not in use, the device should be stored in a dry location, protected from frost and heat. It should be stored upright, shielded from dust and direct sunlight. Protective caps should be placed on the pressure and suction connections to prevent dust and dirt ingress. For extended storage, thorough cleaning is recommended to prevent deposits and residues that could lead to start-up difficulties.
- No User-Serviceable Internal Parts: The manual states that there are no parts inside the device that need to be maintained or lubricated by the user. Any work on electrical components or tasks requiring the device to be opened must only be carried out by authorized specialist companies or by Trotec.
- Safety Sign Maintenance: Safety signs and labels attached to the device should be checked regularly for legibility and replaced if necessary.
The device is not suitable for continuous operation (e.g., as a recirculation pump for ponds) and should not be used for pumping potable water, aggressive, abrasive, caustic, corrosive, combustible, or explosive liquids, or food. It is also not designed for increasing the pressure of existing water supply networks.
