Why is the heart rate on my True Exercise Bike displaying erratically?

  Erratic heart rate readings on your True Exercise Bike can stem from several factors. The transmitter belt might not be making good contact with your skin; readjust it for full contact. The contacts on the transmitter belt may be dry, so moisten them. Ensure the transmitter belt is within 3 feet (1 meter) of the heart rate receiver. Also, verify that you are using a compatible, un-encoded 4.8kHz receiver. A depleted battery in the transmitter belt could also be the cause; replace it if needed. Interference from other devices or power lines can also disrupt the signal; try moving the unit or the source of interference. Another user with a compatible transmitter strap nearby might also cause interference, so increase the space between units.
